Easter Menu

I thought I’d share my Easter dinner menu with you and maybe you’ll share yours too. People generally like sharing menus because it helps give everyone ideas about foods we might not have thought about.

I usually bake a ham on Easter and make a coconut cake. Just a tradition I guess. This year is no different, I’m planning on both. But good hams are getting hard to find. I did find one, a 14 pound one no less, and I’ll bake it then glaze it.

I am not sure about the glaze, probably something simple like brown sugar and pineapple juice with pineapples, whole cloves and cherries. You know; how grandma used to make it. I have some really good amaretto cherries I’ll use.

The rest of the menu looks like this …..

Roast asparagus (I just use olive oil, sea salt and black pepper), mashed potatoes, green peas (La Suer peas!), green beans for those who don’t love peas, yeast rolls, green salad with a choice of dressings, coconut cake, lemon blueberry foccacia, and I think I’ll also make some sort of sweet potatoes. Maybe potato salad instead I don’t know yet. I was going to make hot cross buns but I think I’ll leave that out this year, I end up eating most of them!

What are you making for Easter? Are you having a big meal? Are you eating the main meal of the day at someone elses home? We used to eat at relatives homes but I guess the gauntlet was handed off to me. Next will be one of the girls, I wonder which one??

This isn’t my Easter dinner, just one I found online for free. It’s pretty though!

  1. Hello and Happy Easter! My holiday meal was catered by one of the best here in Clarksville, Tennessee! My husband and I coordinated a family reunion for 32 family members on my side of the family not seen in decades with new members each year added to my family. We had the reunion just last Saturday in a rural but stunning family home with sights as far as one could see. Our chosen meal was chef made and as the team stated, a “typical holiday meal” consisting of a house salad with lots of different lettuces, appetizers of pita bread and crackers with hummus, turkey, ham, mac n cheese, green beans, baby carrots, rolls and cheesecake with several topping for dessert. All of the choices were well spiced, flavorful, hot and divine! Family also brought in many finger foods of veggies and dips, fruit, doughnuts, chips, and candies. May your Easter supper be just how you planned and praises and blessings be to our God!

    1. Kari how wonderful! I love that your family was together and it sounds like a really great time for all of you. Your menu sounds simply delicious. Blessings to you too, sweet friend. Happy Easter, Happy Resurrection Day!
